It's not every day that one runs into an abandoned mobile crane with a cherub hanging from its hook a good six feet off its base. Lunch break or modern art? In Buenos Aires, it's hard to tell.

Spotted the other day in the posh Buenos Aires district of Recoleta, the crane and its unlikely cargo sat motionless, basking in the midday sun, its operator perhaps on siesta, perhaps gone for good. After 15 minutes of looking at it, I had begun leaning towards modern art.
