Passengers disembarking AirTran Flight 725 in Milwaukee this week got a bit of a jolt when a catering truck slammed into the side of the plane. The truck driver's explanation for his monumental fuckup was pretty classic: A loose beverage container made him do it.
He said that the can got stuck under the brake pedal, and that's why he was unable to stop before crashing into the Boeing 717-200, which had just arrived from Atlanta.
He could be telling the truth. He could also be full of shit. Either way, any guesses on how long it'll take for catering truck drivers at airports everywhere to become subject to some new federal regulation prohibiting food and drink in the cab?
