The Detroit Auto Show doesn't open for the press until Sunday but our own Ray Wert managed to pry himself away from his busy schedule of eating Greek salads at Leo's Coney Island to snag these first photos of the Mustang Boss 302 in its new "Gotta Have It Green" paint job. Sometimes it is easy being green.
Ford's superb new Boss 302 Mustang's been the subject of ceaseless (and completely deserved) accolades. It's the best-handling Mustang ever built yet it retains the bullish 'Merican style of the original Boss (ok, maybe the Boss 302 SX is slightly better).
So far the car's only been available in the traditional red, white, orange, blue, black, and silver. This year they added the Parnelli Jones "School Bus Yellow" and, as we're showing you here, there's the new "Gotta Have It Green."
What do you think? It's a bit more pastel and slightly less neon than previous iterations of the color, with a glittery sheen. Clearly looks great with the chrome-rimmed black wheels.
More when the show really opens.
