In 1967, the first Ford Falcon came off the line at Ford's St. Thomas Assembly in Talbotville, Ontario. Here is video from two weeks ago of the plant's final days — as it builds the very last of Ford's venerable Crown Victoria sedans.
Over the years, the 2,600,000 sq. ft. Canadian assembly plant built some of Ford's most famous — and infamous — vehicles — the Falcon, the Maverick, the Fairmont and even the Pinto. But it will always hold a special place in our hearts for being the birthplace of Ford's Panther-platform triumvirate — the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and the Lincoln Town Car.
The last of these, a Ford Crown Victoria headed to Saudi Arabia, came off the line two weeks ago.
