In what is probably a nightmare scenario for a lot of New York commuters, about 50 people were injured this morning when a ferry crashed into a dock in Lower Manhattan, according to news reports.
The New York Daily News reports that the rush hour ferry coming from New Jersey slammed into the South Street dock's moorings around 8:45 a.m. local time, sending people flying across the deck. At least one person was critically injured, according to news reports.
CNN reports that many passengers were being carried off the boat on stretchers by emergency crews. The Seastreak ferry carries about 400 passengers, they said.
