Some American truck owners crossing the border for cheap fuel have had their trucks confiscated, according to PickupTrucks.com. While it's completely legal to enter Mexico and fill up your truck with the Mexican diesel, which is often more than $2.00 cheaper per gallon, drivers run afoul of the country's laws if they put any in an auxiliary tank. An official told PickupTrucks.com the law was created to prevent the transportation of large amounts of fuel over international bridges in vehicles not properly equipped for such duty. Anyone busted filling an extra tank will have to wait at least four days to get their truck back, in addition to paying a fine. Thankfully, the law doesn't apply to transporting cases of cheap Mexican tequila. [PickupTrucks.com, Photo: Getty/AFP]
