Yesterday, Sunday March 30, 2008, former touring car racer David Leslie died when the Cessna Citation he was in crashed into a house. No people on the ground were injured, but all five of the plane's passengers were killed. Leslie had a 13-year career in the British Touring Car Championship. His best season in the highly-competitive series was 1999, when he finished second in the overall championship. Sir Jackie Stewart had this to say about his fellow Scot:

"...a great loss to Scottish motor sport... David was a highly skilled and talented racing driver who was also an excellent engineer and technical expert within the sport... A proud Scot who represented our country internationally in a dignified and stylish fashion."
