A while back we saw a swoopy looking coupe sitting at a car show. Our first guess was a Cheetah. A quick talk with the owner revealed that it was in fact a Kellison. Both the Cheetah and the Kellison were early versions of what came to be known collectively as kit cars. While the very phrase conjures up visions of odd looking fiberglass bodies barely attached to Volkswagen beetle floorpans, this particular ride had a V-8 under the hood and looked bitchen in a Shelby Daytona way. A lightweight low slung long nosed rear drive V-8 coupe that one can build on the cheap? Potrzebie! With the vast array of available crate motors and suspension bits on the market kit cars seem like a better idea than say, spending a million dollars on a muscle car.
