Mazda’s been killing it lately in the “good-looking cars that are affordable and don’t suck to drive” game. And for families that need maximum gear haulage as well as zoom-zoom, there’s the all-new 2016 Mazda CX-9, showing up on Carscoops tonight sooner than it was supposed to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
These photos of the new CX-9 appear to come from print or display ads, and they reveal an attractive if a bit boring Mazda crossover. It looks about what we all expected, and that’s not bad at all, considering how on point Mazda’s been with design lately.
No word yet on powertrains, but we’re expecting front- or all-wheel drive with SkyActiv four-cylinder engines, in particular a new turbocharged 2.5-liter mill, possibly. That’s exciting because the word “Mazdaspeed” comes to mind for other cars...
Anyway, there’s a few more pictures over at Carscoops tonight if you’re curious. Expect to see the real deal soon.
