2013 Ford Mustang: What to expect

According to the pony-mad boys at MustangsDaily, the Ford Mustang will be getting a fairly significant redesign for the 2013 model year — taking a slew of stallion-like styling cues from the current Shelby GT500.

That includes the larger, protruding upper grille and a smaller, rounder lower grille that aligns with a mysterious Mustang test mule caught on the streets of Dearborn back in April.

As a modern touch, and to keep up with the Joneses, it'll sport a set of LED fog lights in the lower front fascia. Also, the controversial-to-Mustang-fans taillight design from the 2010 Mustang is getting tweaked to make it run straight across the back of the car rather than angling towards the front.

Powertrains are expected to remain the same for 2013 — a 5.0 L V8 and the 3.7 L V6, although Ford will likely give a slight bump in horsepower to the Mustang GT to give it a more Camaro SS-like number. The exact horsepower figure for the Mustang GT is unknown, but expect it to come in right around 425.

And that's what we know.
