The next-gen BMW 3 Series prototypes have apparently hit the streets in abundance; first possibly the upcoming GT, and now a tester that looks to be the sedan suffering through L.A. traffic like the rest of your poor schlubs.
A new range of turbo and naturally aspirated engines will power the new F30 3 Series. Those include a turbocharged base four-cylinder, an inline six, and perhaps a new 3-cylinder. For extra economy, BMW will likely fit these with hybrid-like stop-start and energy-recovery systems. A turbodiesel will be on board too, naturally.
And despite the lukewarm reception of the 5 Series Grand Turismo, expect that hatchback version to arrive on the F30 platform as well. Due date: mid-2012. (Thanks to Fred K for the tip/photos!)
