The next-generation 2010 Opel Astra, otherwise known as the 2010 Vauxhall Astra and sometimes going by the name 2011 Saturn Astra (if Saturn survives), was spotted completely undisguised in Germany outside GM's testing facilities.
The revised Astra is scheduled to go on sale at the end of this year and although a styling prototype, the vehicle caught in the camera viewfinder clearly shows off the Astra's new lines on the outside. But, it's on the inside where the real magic is made. Underneath that new skin, the new Astra rides on GM's Delta II platform, the same frame found under the skin of the 2011 Chevy Cruze and a host of other compact cars from the General.
