Thanks to AutoWeek, the folks over at Inside Line, the auto news add-on to the 600-lb computer-accessed consumer automotive juggernaut Edmunds have gone live with all the man-of-Club fun. Official details and photos are spilling out all over the place, and here's what we know about the not-so-mini Mini. First of all it rides on a longer wheelbase than its standard siblings. And although it maintains the retro look making the regular Mini such a hit, it has three extra portals — a short one along the right-hand side and two barn doors at the rear. BMW Mini plans to...

...offer the Clubman with a choice of turbocharged or non-turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines. The naturally aspirated engine produces 120 hp and 118 lb-foot o' torque, while the turbo in the Clubman S produces 175 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. In Europe, Mini is also offering a 1.6-liter CRD with an output of 110 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. Mini's Clubman will be offered with a six-speed manual and an optional six-speed automatic.

While Mini is remaining tight-lipped about the specific sales date, we're hearing the Clubman will go on sale sometime in 2008 — no word yet on pricing. [via Inside Line]

Ahhh...the MINI for fat Americans. Utterly useless. The original Clubman was built roughly the same size as the Mini, but with a stretched weheelbase.
