1986 Oldsmobile Delta 88 was "imported from Middle America"

While this 1986 Oldsmobile commercial doesn't have the production value or the visual appeal of last year's "Imported from Detroit" Chrysler super bowl ad, it is playing on the same concept almost 25 years earlier.

"On the docks" or wherever crated cars are strewn about in a haphazard manner seemed like the perfect place to show offl the 1986 Oldsmobile Delta 88 alongside the offerings from Osaka, Tokyo, Milan, Stuttgart, Stockholm, or Paris. Why is the Oldsmobile in a crate you might ask? It's because the car just made the long trip from "Middle America" where it was "imported" from.

We're all for American Cars and the whole "imported from 'Merica!" advertising concept. Having said that, is it too much to ask for one of these commercials to be made showcasing more interesting "imports" than a Oldsmobile Delta 88 or a Chrysler 200?
