Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. Some cars are very much of their time; for example, the Chrysler Laser.
Those Swiss-cheese wheels! The TURBO emblems in odd locations! The vaguely Mitsubishi-esque lines! The browny-gold coloring! These things together create much more than the sum of their parts.
Still, these cars have aged well; we don't even notice Cavaliers and Camrys from this era, but most of us do an approving double-take when we see one of Mr. Iacocca's turbocharged K-warriors.
