Porsche unveiled the 2025 Taycan facelift last week, which brings styling tweaks, a lot more power, faster charging, much longer range and new tech to the brand’s electric sport sedan and wagon. As with all other Porsche releases, the brand immediately updated its fantastic online configurator, so we set our employees loose and had them come up with their dream specs.

I don’t know if it’s a factor of Jalopnik employees all having amazing taste or if Porsche just doesn’t offer enough good interior colors on the 2025 Taycan yet, but nearly all of the specs in this roundup have one of a couple different interior schemes. Everyone either went for the base model or the top-end Turbo S, too. Otherwise there’s a good amount of variety here; I think fun configurator exercises like this are a great way for people to show off their style and personalities.

For each spec we’ve included links to the configuration so you can see exactly what everyone went for. After clicking through the slideshow let us know which of our builds is your favorite in the comments section, and share what your dream Taycan spec would be!

As much as I love the Cross Turismo wagon, I love the tweaked Mission E Design wheels that you can only get on the sedan even more. As appealing as the lower-end models’ longer range is, I really do need the Taycan Turbo S and all 938 of its horsepower. I went for the lovely Shade Green, which was the 911 Dakar’s reveal color, and chose color-matched mirrors, rear badges and wheel inserts. I also chose silver window trim, deleted all the carbon-fiber exterior trim and chose Glacier Blue accents for the headlights and the illuminated Porsche script in the taillights.

I’ve always been a sucker for Porsche’s Blackberry interior option, and I really like how it looks paired with Chalk in this two-tone scheme; I also added Night Green stitching to tie it in with the exterior paint. I chose the gold Neodyme interior accents, of course, and went for the Paldao wood inserts on the door panels and center console. Every surface has been covered with as much color-matched leather as possible, and I chose every single luxury and tech option. Annoyingly, if you want massage Porsche still restricts you to the 14-way Comfort Seats, so that’s what I’ve got here — as nice as the hip-hugging 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus are, I need massage.

All in my Taycan comes out to $273,385, though in reality it would be quite a bit more. I didn’t choose any of the bespoke personalizable options like the sill plates and key holders that can have your own words or logos, because I didn’t want to spend hours messing around with the configurator. Still, I’m pretty happy with “my” Taycan.

If money wasn’t a concern and I could go out and order a new car tomorrow, I’d get the Taycan Cross Turismo in a heartbeat, so the spec I’d have is something I’ve mulled over many, many times. I’d take the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo, because the Turbo S comes with the only good wheel designs post-facelift, so we’re taking the 20-inch offering there. Then color-wise you’re a bit spoiled for choice, but Porsche’s Frozen Blue Metallic is really speaking to me right now, especially paired with a lovely Blackberry leather interior, which I’d finish with red seat belts and a red dial on the clock.

Other details I’d add include the variable panoramic roof, because sometimes the sun gets to be a bit too much, and all of the blue accents you can imagine. So there will be Glacier Blue headlights up front and a rear light strip that’s got the Porsche logo in blue within. I’d also fit black aluminum roof rails up top, because you bet I’m getting a fancy Porsche e-bike to strap to the roof as well.

I chose the base model Taycan with the standard battery, as I enjoy how these drive without a front motor and the extra battery weight, and I don’t necessarily need to drive 400 miles on a charge. I don’t really love the aero wheels, but they’re probably the best choice of the bunch. If I bought one of these, I’d immediately ditch the stock wheels for a lighter aftermarket wheel with custom Porsche Motorsport–inspired aero discs.

The best interior choice dictates my exterior color choice of Provence, so I chose the $4,700 leather interior option with Blackberry and Chalk two-tone. This is accented with Neodyme metals for a unique look. Key options include the $2,750 adaptive cruise control, $1,200 Bose sound system, and $500 for Porsche’s Jetsons-style Sport Sound.

I chose a base powertrain Taycan because I want my Porsche in rear-wheel drive, and I went with the bold PTS color choice of Gulf Orange because I love the Gulf livery and I find the orange to be more compelling than Gulf Blue. If I could, I would’ve gone full Gulf livery, but for now I shall settle for this ever-so-subtle bright orange Taycan. I used to be a pre-production durability test driver for Porsche and I drove Taycan prototypes when they were still shrouded in camouflage, so I’m familiar with driving attention-grabbing Taycans.

For the interior, I chose to go with the massaging comfort seats covered in leather-free Slate Grey Race-Tex with Pepita seat centers, since it helps jazz up the interior’s vibe. As a big fan of canyon carving on tight twisty roads, I chose to add rear-axle steering, Porsche’s Torque Vectoring Plus, the Sport Chrono package, and Porsche Surface Coated Brakes with white calipers. I couldn’t let my Taycan’s paint color be the loudest part of my car, so you know I added the Burmester 3D surround sound system.

While my Taycan might not be the most refined choice, it certainly is distinctive, and if you ever catch me buying a $150,000+ car, you best believe I’m not getting a spec that’s commonly replicated. I’m not like other Porsche guys; I’m much worse.

God, I love Porsche’s configurators. Everything built in them ends up costing as much as a house, sure, but look at what you get — these gorgeous colors, this perfect combination. The Ultraviolet exterior pairs great with the bronze wheels, and it’s worth every penny of the $13,150 Paint To Sample price — you can’t take it with you, right? — and demonstrates just how much other automakers are lacking in the purple department. Why can’t I get this color on an Impreza?

Inside, though, is where Porsche really lets the Taycan shine. Not only can I get a purple exterior, but I can get purple and bronze inside to match — it’s called attention to detail, look it up sometime. The seat centers are white, keeping them nice and cool in the hot summer sun, while the purple throughout makes the car look truly distinct. Most people wouldn’t own a Taycan like this, but I wouldn’t have mine any other way. Now if I could just win Powerball.

Building the perfect Taycan is no easy task. If you include the pre-facelift car, there are no fewer than 18 different Taycan models and three different body styles you can pick from. When making my decision I knew I wanted a wagon (sorry, sedan people), but unfortunately you can’t get the new Taycan in Sport Turismo guise in the U.S. yet, so I had to go for the Cross Turismo. It’s okay. A little black plastic cladding never hurt anyone.

Picking the trim level was very easy, though. If I’m getting a Taycan, I’m going all out and getting the 938-hp Taycan Turbo S. Go big or go home, ya know? Anyway, that started me with a hefty-ass base price of about $214,000. That’s a lot of cash, but the Taycan Turbo S is a lot of car.

Getting into the build, I decided to go with one of Porsche’s off-the-shelf colors: Oak Green Metallic Neo. It’s a lovely emerald green that lets people know I am both rich and environmentally conscious. That set me back another $3,000 right off the bat. Inside we’ve gone with Porsche’s classic Pepita fabric. How could I not? Some of my other big purchases were the Premium Package ($4,780), Porsche Active Ride ($7,140), the Panoramic Roof with Variable Light Control ($3,240), Night Vision ($2,460) and a Burmester Sound System ($5,810).

With a few more odds and ends that were absolutely crucial to my Taycan ownership experience, the total price came out to $252,995, including destination. A quarter-million dollars is just a small price to pay for the best wagon in the world.
