I don’t think I realized that Ford re-used the Maverick name in Europe on this re-badged Nissan Terrano II. The first one of my friends in high school to get his driver’s license was given an early ‘70s vomit-green four-door (U.S.-market) Maverick. This is a very different sort of car from that Maverick template that’s been imprinted on my memories. That old car was sort of terrible, but it was a real Maverick, to me. This SUV is pretending. Be careful.
