We received a message the other day from our pals over at Alfa Romeo, letting us know that, yes, the company will be at the Geneva Motor Show, and just in case we thought it was just going to sit in a booth on folding chairs, it let us know that not only would it be bringing their “award-winning lineup,” but it also had “something new.” Exciting, right? I mean, vague and useless as far as information goes, but still?

Here’s the full statement:

“Alfa Romeo will be at the Geneva Motor Show in full force with our award-winning lineup and something new up our sleeves as well. We’re excited to show everyone a taste of what’s next in the world of Italian performance and luxury. Stay tuned on March 5 to see a glimpse into the next chapter of Alfa Romeo’s legendary story.”

Now, as far as just what that new something it’s crammed up their sleeves is, there’s only rumor to go one. One persistent one is that it’ll be showing their new crossover, which is most likely going to be based on the Jeep Renegade.

Also, it almost definitely will not look like this:

So, don’t get your hopes up.

There’s a lot of things this something new could be: an interesting concept car is likely, and if we’re lucky maybe it’ll be inspired by one of the incredible Alfa BAT cars of the 1950s.

Then again, Alfa Romeo’s legacy also includes cars like the Alfa Romeo Arna, so maybe it’ll be a sad, uninspired Nissan Versa competitor, too.

I guess the exciting part is nobody knows, and all Alfa is telling us is that it’ll be... something.

Thanks for that, Alfa.
