Sad that you missed out on Radwood Philly because you didn’t have something rad to bring? Well dry those tears because here’s your chance to own one of the raddest cars to ever exist: Matt Farah’s very own 1988 Ford Mustang SSP 5.0. And if you buy it, the proceeds go to the cause of your choosing.
Listed right now on Bring a Trailer with no reserve, the Mustang started out as a police Special Service Package coupe and was reportedly used by the California Highway Patrol from 1988 until 1994. Farah acquired the car in 2014 and then proceeded to, for lack of a better description, mod the shit out of it.
He added wide-body fenders, a Saleen lower front air dam, independent rear suspension, Cobra disc brakes, Delrin suspension bushings, Bilstein shocks and springs, a 302 cubic-inch Ford Racing V8 crate engine, a roll bar and HRE 18-inch wheels, to name a few. The car originally was painted gray but was then repainted black in 2015 after all the bodywork was finished.
And have you seen this bitchin’ interior?
Final mileage count is unknown, but Farah has driven the Mustang about 3,500 miles since he’s owned it. It weighs just 3,110 pounds with a full tank of gas. In the past, the car has appeared in Car Craft Magazine, Speedhunters and Automobile Magazine.
At the time of this writing, the current bid is $65,000 and the auction will end on Monday, Oct. 22. Half of the winning amount will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice.
Here’s a video of it.
To the winner: I fully expect to see you at Radwood LA in December!
