Have you ever wanted a Ford GT so, so badly, to the point that “drivability” is an optional feature and status as an actual “car” isn’t required? Then today, friends, your lucky day. Say hello to this lovely used 2005 Ford GT, which looks as much like a Ford GT as you do your profile picture on the internet.
This 2005 GT is up for insurance auction at the always-interesting Copart, as spotted by The Drive. The listing’s car features is quite abundant, as one would expect from an expensive supercar, with its supercharged 5.4-liter V8, exemption from the key requirement in the auction and its dependence on gasoline to move anywhere.
(This GT doesn’t look like it would move anywhere even with gas. And since gasoline and fire don’t mix well, gas would probably, like, freak the car out.)
The transmission box on the auction listing, which would say “Manual” if it still somewhat resembled an automobile, just says “Yes”in it. Nice! But objectively the best part about the auction is the listed color of the car:
(That’s a common Copart description for cars of this... fate.)
The current bid is $0, which is only about $10 less than what this should sell for, but the gods and the brands know that it’ll sell for a lot more than that. So, again, friends with dreams of the Ford GT, it’s your lucky day. On this day, your blessings are more abundant than the number of ashes in this pile.
And hey, this GT would make for a great art project, or a decent home decoration. Keep it in an urn, maybe, to stop the dust from flying everywhere or to prevent the cat from using it as a litter box. Then again, it would be a fun story to tell your friends about the time your cat pooped in your 2005 Ford GT because you left it out while at work one day.
