Learning to drive can be a daunting experience. You are suddenly tasked with safely controlling a few thousand pound piece of steel in traffic. Not every car is best suited for this task. A Dodge Challenger Hellcat for instance, is probably the worst possible car for someone who has never driven a car. New drivers need a car that can take safely take a little punishment without losing control.
In an ideal world, everyone would learn how to drive their grandfather’s Oldsmobile 88 but I did not have that luxury. I learned to drive on my parent’s third generation Dodge Grand Caravan. It was a whale of a van that had already been thoroughly used for school duty for years. I hated every second of driving it but I learned how to parallel park in it so I owe it that much.
