Sunday's Hurricane Benefit Car Show POSTPONED Due To Flash Flood Watch

Irony of ironies! Turns out the inaugural Jalopnik Auto Show, the car show we spent weeks planning to benefit three hurricane relief charities in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, has to be postponed due to a flash flood watch.

Team Jalopnik was completely prepared to do this event on Sunday rain or shine, but it turns out we’re facing a lot more than just rain. Storms in New Jersey and New York are expected to be severe all day Sunday, and we don’t want to risk anyone’s safety for this event. So we hope to do it another time.

I am so sorry to tell you this. I can’t tell you how sad it makes me to put this event off. We just wanted to throw a fun car event to help people affected by the natural disasters this summer. But as it often does, weather has other plans.

Fuck weather! It’s overrated.

So what happens next? Well, we’re working to find a new date for the car show. It’s still happening, just at a different time and date soon. If you paid to enter your car in the show, you don’t have to do it again. Anyone who paid to RSVP is good to go for the new date.

You can also request a refund if you want, but it’s just $10 for hurricane relief charities, so why would you want to?

We’ll find a new date soon, and if you confirmed your attendance earlier you’re all set for the new date if you can make it. With any luck we’ll get even more people and cars this time.

Again, you have my sincerest apologies, but we hope to see you soon at the (hopefully) rain-free Jalopnik Auto Show once we lock down a future date. And you can still buy a Blipshift shirt in the meantime to support our relief charities if you want to help. Please email me at patrick at jalopnik dot com if you have any questions.

Onward and upward.
