Even The Racing Is Gentrified In Brooklyn This Weekend

Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

If you thought people complained enough already about how gentrified Brooklyn has become due to millennial hipsters or whatever, it will trouble you to learn that even this weekend’s racing won’t be with cars with screaming engines like the good old days. No—this weekend, Formula E comes to New York City because traditional combustion cars just aren’t cool enough.

If you’re ready for another solid weekend of exciting racing, we’ve got dizzy Sebastian Vettel racing Lewis Hamilton on his home turf in the British Grand Prix, New York hosting Formula E for the first time (reports are that it will be slippery), some Canadian IndyCar and some Canadian Porsche racing, New Hampshire NASCAR, as well as some drifting and some dragging.

While you wait for the live stuff to start, check out the re-runs—there’s an 11-hour marathon of Australian Supercars on CBS Sports Network to keep you company on Sunday.
