It’s that time of year again in Austin, Texas! The time of year when we all put aside concerns about allergies, traffic and the slow but steady encroachment of Californians to celebrate the world’s top racing series in our town. I’m talking about the United States Grand Prix this weekend, and Jalopnik—and hopefully you—will be there to hang out.
As we’ve done in previous years, we’ll be hosting a meetup with you fine people and any friends you want to bring along this Friday, Oct. 21 (that’s today), at Lustre Pearl East at 8 p.m. CT.
It’s going to be a fun and informal gathering of like-minded individuals at one of this city’s best and newest bars. There will be drinks! There will be food! There should even be adequate parking for you Miatas, WRXes and diesel Volkswagens. (This isn’t my first rodeo, I’ve seen what you people drive.)
Here’s the lowdown:
Where: Lustre Pearl East*, 114 Linden St, Austin, TX 78702
When: Friday, Oct. 21 8 p.m. CT
Who: Me, Stef Schrader, Alanis King, and a few other assorted randos. And you!
Food: Here’s their menu.
RSVP?: Nah, just show up.
Is Taylor Swift coming? Yes, definitely. And by that I mean probably not.
It’s going to be a joyous celebration. We hope to see you there!
*Please note that this is the new Lustre Pearl on the East Side, not the one on Rainey Street. I must be getting old because I have approximately zero desire to mess with Rainey Street on a Friday night.
