I was not particularly enamored with the 1990s while I was growing up in it.
I hated Friends. I hated boy bands. I hated just about everything that was new, and much preferred to listen to ‘80s music I heard on the radio sometimes and whatever Motown my mom would play in the car. Little hipster me wanted the whole thing to be over.
This did not happen.
This will never happen.
The ’90s will never die, or at least nobody is willing to let the decade creep off into memory, least of all BBC executives, who reiterated that Joey will be the main host of the no-longer-quite-so-shouty-or-racist Top Gear.

Friends came out in the end of 1994. At the same time, Nissan was busily preparing the R33 generation Skyline GT-R, a car I thought for years looked lumpy and gross, unlike cool clean crisp Skylines of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. But now for some reason i can’t stop watching videos of slammed and widebodied R33s sliding with overbuilt RB straight sixes.
