We Took A $240,000 McLaren 570S To A Dirt Track

A carbon fiber chassis, 204 mile per hour, $240,000 McLaren 570S belongs out in the South of France or the Swiss Alps or Northern Italy somewhere. So naturally we took it to America’s gnarliest dirt track instead.

Really, if you’re taking a McLaren to a dirt track, there’s only one dirt track to go to: Eldora. I cannot stress how alien it feels to drive a bright red sports car with doors that go up and a twin-turbo V8 behind you out to there in the middle of nowhere, Ohio.

All I can say is that once you take this car completely out of its element, you finally get a sense of its speed, its performance, its fragility, and (with its electronic assistance turned off) its difficulty.

How I didn’t crash I do not know.
