Oh, another special edition with a name so dumb your eyes roll back into your skull and you relapse into an alternate reality in your mind, scrambling for the remnants of your sanity as it flees reality for the oasis of darkness. It’s the Dodge Ram “Yellow Rose of Texas.”
Look folks; we’ve been down this road again, and again, and again, and again. This time Dodge Ram pulled a dumb special edition name from a random-ass 19th century folk song that became popular back in 1955, according to the press release.
I can’t think of a single person with a shred of dignity in Texas that would pull up in a bright yellow Dodge Ram they spent too much money on and proudly proclaim it their “Yellow Rose of Texas.” They’ll sell a shit load.
The “Yellow Rose of Texas” will be exclusive to the state of, you guessed it, Texas, and it’s based on the existing Ram 1500 Lone Star truck—also named to make a Texan’s hearts swell—or Big Horn to everybody else.
It’s just a yellow Dodge Ram, dammit.
But, it makes headlines like these (well, maybe not this one), and of course will sell extremely well in Texas, where the State bird is a Dodge Ram.
It will go on sale next month. Let me know if you buy one.
