The normal, M-less BMW 2-series is a fantastic car to drive. I’ve driven one across the country, slept in one, and even peed in one. In all that, I never really wanted more power, but if your goals include things faster than sleeping or peeing, the M2 does it, and it’s now officially priced at $51,700.
The M2 was finally officially revealed in the fleshy metal at the Detroit Auto Show, and the price was confirmed on BMW’s website.
Extrapolating from what I know about driving the regular 2 series, the 365 HP, 0-60 in 4.1 seconds M2 seems like a pretty good use of 50 grand to me.
Oh, if you’re saving up, BMW’s site does mention that the $51,700 MSRP
1. MSRP excludes destination & handling fee of $995, tax, title, license, and registration.
... so, you know, save up a little extra.
