Fuck The Dodge Challenger Hellcat

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is, as Regular Car Reviews explains, everything wrong with Fiat Chrysler right now, everything wrong with a muscle car, and everything wrong with a big personal vehicle. And yet...

The Hellcat, as Mr. Regular explains, is a lazy car. It’s good at doing what it was intended to do: be the most powerful muscle car on sale today.

But what does that matter? Why does someone need to pay Chrysler to stick a supercharger on a Challenger rather than just do it themselves? And who really wants The Most Powerful Muscle Car On Sale Today when we all know it will only be a matter of time before there’s a new Most Powerful.

Look beyond the burnouts and the Hellcat is a disposable car, and one that isn’t exactly a shining beacon of modernity, something that Chrysler needs at the moment. Sure, Jeep is cleaning up selling America the crossovers it wants, but that’s just one brand. Dodge and Chrysler are a different story, one with deficiencies not exactly filled by a 1950s cuss of a car.

And yet... even Mr. Regular can’t help but love it.
