Connected cars! Autonomous cars! Cars as rolling cell phones! Apps! Snapchats, tweets, iMessages, texts, sexts and emails! Sometimes, the noise of modern living just gets to be too much.
And when that happens a good weekend (or several years spent updating your manifesto to include a violent overthrow of the government) off the grid is just what the doctor ordered. But what car do you take to do that?
That’s our question of the day: What’s the best car for going off the grid?
Me, I’d take a 1980s or early 1990s Toyota Land Cruiser. Tough, dependable, modern enough to be comfortable enough, but still analog and disconnected from the insanity of today’s world. I wouldn’t be able to stream Spotify over Bluetooth, but I could live just fine otherwise.
What’s your pick?
