The era of the pop up headlight is over, long since replaced by LED eyeliner. And that gives us time to reflect on the most ridiculous variations of the flip up lighting theme.
I have a personal affection towards the Alfa Romeo Navajo, designed by Bertone on an Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 chassis with headlights that flip out sideways. It was 1976, nobody knew what the future was going to look like, and headlights might as well swing out rather than up.
Pictures of the headlights actually out are very rare. I managed to turn up this very grainy one.
