Everyone Else Is Wrong About This Car

You might call this An Car. You may call it a Ford. Or a Ford Mustang. Or a Shelby GT350R. I prefer to call it the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R. Ford calls it the Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang. Ford’s name for its own car is Backwards and Wrong.

It doesn’t even make sense. It’s a Ford Mustang (car) + Shelby GT350R (trim level). Thus it is a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R. You might as well call your weirdly shiny SUV with a set of weird decals a Jeep Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Wrangler. It’s just ridiculous. The naming convention, I mean.

It made sense in the Mercedes-McLaren SLR, because McLaren made that car. Shelby does not “make” this car.

Anyways, Raph and Matt disagree with me. They say that Ford can name its car anything it wants, even if it’s a silly and dumb name. They’re wrong too.

It’s the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and everyone else is wrong.
