The Toyota Prius is the Kleenex of hybrids, representing “energy efficient” driving for an entire generation of drivers. For 2017 Toyota has gone further in direction of the curious Toyota Mirai hydrogen vehicle. We also hear they’ve maybe gone further with electric range.
While the Prius is a gasoline-electric hybrid, it’s still more balanced towards the gasoline end of the spectrum, as opposed to the Chevy Volt that can go more than the Prius Plug-In’s 11 miles on pure EV.
Green Car Reports thinks the new Prius might be able to go up to 35 miles on its batteries alone, which would make it even more impressive as a miserly fuel sipper.
