John’s the one getting yelled at here, but what happened isn’t all his fault. I mean, sure, some of it is, like how he’s towing these guys along at around 50 MPH and doesn’t really seem to know his Land Rover has that nice “rear window” option. But the real issue has to do with the guys in the car being pulled, who neglected a very important rule.
That rule? Have the keys in the ignition, and the steering wheel lock disabled when towing. Duh, perhaps, but it’s worth noting that if you don’t do that, you could end up with something like this:
Yes, a locked steering wheel is one that doesn’t move, and being able to move is really what a steering wheel is best at. A steering wheel locked to one side is one you shouldn’t have in motion.
There’s so much wrong here. John’s going too fast, he’s too oblivious, and the guys in the towed car, while great at fecklessly yelling names, really, really should have unlocked that steering column.
Don’t make the mistake of John’s idiot friends, okay?
(Thanks, Ross!)
