I bet you thought all the interesting cars were done being revealed in 2014, right? I kind of thought the same thing until this Italian-American bad boy dropped this morning. Meet the Puritalia 427 Roadster, an open-top sports car with a lot of power and not a lot of size.

Carscoops reports that the Puritalia 427 is a venture from an Italian startup automaker based out of Naples. "If you can dream it, we can build it," is what they say for their heavily-customized projects.

That's nice, but what really gets me interested are the specs: a weight of just 2,535 pounds all while a Ford Coyote 5.0-liter V8 with 445 horsepower sits under the hood. There's also a supercharged version with 605 horsepower, because hell yeah superchargers.

Size-wise, it's pretty small, a little more than a foot longer and a little wider than a 2016 Mazda Miata. Power goes to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. It looks pretty sexy too, with classic sports car proportions and a friendly face. It reminds me of the Alfa Romeo 8C a little bit, and that's never a bad thing.

Motor Authority reports Puritalia plans to make just 427 of these roadsters, which will be priced at about $220,000 each. They're working on getting it approved for European roads, followed by other markets like the U.S. and the Middle East. After that, they want to work on a mid-engined hybrid GT car.

I hope they succeed. I'd love to see this thing on the road.
