Can The Camaro Z/28 Hang With The Porsche 911 GT3 RS?

The comparison between a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the new Camaro Z/28 seems as ridiculous as Chevy actually making a track day car out of the Camaro, but it actually makes some sense. The Z/28 is one of the only track day cars that you can still buy with a manual gearbox.

Not even Porsche is offering a three-pedal option the new GT3, hence Chris Harris has brought out a 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 to compare to the new Z/28. So can the new Camaro actually compare with one of the best track focused cars of recent memory?

Believe it or not, it can. Even though the Z/28 is based on a less than ideal starting platform, it's gigantic carbon brakes and sticky Pirelli tires give it some serious performance on the circuit. The Porsche is a bit more precise, but the Camaro is most definitely in the same league.

Chevy has kind of dropped the mic with the Z/28. I can't wait to see what they cook up when the next Camaro will be on the lighter alpha platform. Should be a riot.
