Let's say you find $80,000 hidden in the abdomen of a horse carcass you find in your apartment. What are you going to do with that money? Buy a house and 3/4 acre of land in Shitsylvania, or are you going to do the smart thing and buy a 650 HP 2015 Corvette Z06 for $78,995? I think we both know how this ends.

Yes, getting that supercharger and extra 190 HP is only about $7000 or so (the 2014 Corvette Stingray we tested came in at about $71,000, after all), and in the grand scheme of things, that's a pretty good deal.

That means, in terms of HP/dollar, the 2015 Z06 comes in at $121.53/HP, which is right under the Scion FR-S at $123/HP. That's pretty damn good. The convertible comes in at $83,995, and if you want carbon fiber aero toys glued on, be ready to drop an extra $2995.

The full Z07 Performance Package, with its ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and adjustable front and rear aero bits adds a healthy $7995.

Compared to most other cars in its class, this Corvette seems very reasonably priced indeed. Though, if raw HP is your thing, the 707 HP Hellcat still delivers more bang/buck ($84/HP). Either is still a much better deal than something like the 2015 Porsche 911 Carerra 4S, whose 400 horses will set you back a whopping $264/horse.
