It's been a long damn time since we've heard anything from Caparo, the company that took the tired trope of an "F1 car for the road" and made it a reality. Now we know why. It's called the T1 Evolution, and adult diapers should come standard.
The original T1 shoved a 575-hp, 3.5-liter V8 into a 1,000 pound carbon fiber and unobtanium body for a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds. It also had the bad habit of catching TV presenters on fire. This new one ups the absurdity quotient with a "bespoke power train system with a 700bhp output".
In addition to the extra grunt, the T1 Evolution will get a redesigned body for better aerodynamics, a reworked chassis, new suspension, ABS, traction and stability control, and what sounds like a more refined driving experience, with a more comfortable cockpit filled with an array of gizmos.
Caparo isn't saying when the Evolution will go on sale, how much it is, or how many it will make, but part of the package is track day support and enigmatic options described as "Silver, Gold or Platinum parts and Virtual Engineer packages."
