After receiving a cease-and-desist from the San Francisco City Attorney, MonkeyParking – the app enables dicks to sell their public parking spaces in SF – is shutting down its service in the city.
MonkeyParking announced the shuttering of the service today, saying, "In light of the cease and desist letter that we received from the City of San Francisco, we are currently reviewing our service to clarify our value proposition and avoid any future misunderstandings."
But they're down, and not out. MonkeyParking says the service has been "temporary [sic] disabled", as they "avoid any possible improper use of our service".
That improper use would result in a $2,500 fine levied against MonkeyParking each time someone uses the service and, more importantly, a $300 fine for the person using the app.
