It's not easy being a traffic cop in Italy. What are you supposed to do about all those exotics speeding around? Let them outrun you? Hell no, son, the law doesn't work that way. So in the interest of public safety, the Italian State Police is adding a Lamborghini Huracan to their fleet.
Today Lamborghini CEO Stefan Winkelmann presented the Polizia di Stato with a specially-outfitted Huracan at a ceremony in Rome. The 610 horsepower V10 supercar goes into service at the end of June and will be used for traffic duty, special events, getting donuts and probably also doing donuts.
Of course, this isn't the Italian state cops' first dalliance with Lamborghini power. They were famously given Gallardos in 2004 and again in 2008, although one of them met a rather grisly end in 2009.
Let's hope the new cares better, and that criminals are the only ones on the receiving end of the Hurricane's fury.
