Oh my god this is perfect. Robyn in a blue Volvo V60 is a fantastic combination of great things from Sweden. I guess it's fitting that the two put together made some kind of ad that looks like a depressing Swedish police drama.
The ad, the campaign for which is launching now in several markets, is not set in Gothenburg but rather Los Angeles. And it's promoting Volvo's efficiency and environmental commitment or whatever with the Drive-E range of engines. Which is all well and good, but I'm not sure why it's two minutes of Robyn telling someone she wants to be "recyclable." What does that even mean?
Still, as far as celebrity endorsements go, this is a pretty good get for Volvo. Maybe one that will get people to notice them so Volvo can stop asking, "I'm right over here, why can't you see me?"
Sorry, I listened to "Dancing On My Own" about three times while writing this.
Now here's the Volvo ad. Hopefully there will be livelier follow ups.
