You're single again. Things might get better if you change your car. And there are plenty of choices for the recently divorced, depending on what sort of image you want to put out there for new prospects. It's a whole new world!

8.) Infiniti G37/Q60 Coupe
Fast enough, enough fun to drive, but says, "I can't afford a BMW" well enough so the other party won't seek anymore spousal support.

7.) Fiat 500 Abarth
Or really any hot-ish hatch thing. Looks like you're having fun, but there's just enough space to pick up your kids. And as Jay_Hoff put it:

6.) A Minivan

5.) Toyobaru
I don't think one of these was the cause of qoncept's divorce. At least I hope not. But hey, when you don't need much of a back seat and you're living on a tighter budget, it's a way to go without being too mid-life crisis-y.
I bought this. No regrets.
Long version: The day she left I test drove an FR-S. Wanted one since I heard Toyota and Subaru were discussing it years earlier. But it was too small and I decided I could never have one. 6 months later and 40lbs lighter I sold my WRX and bought the BRZ.

3.) Mazda Miata
The answer is always Miata. You all know someone's parent who bought one after a split. (Hi, Dad.)

1.) Pontiac Aztek
Face it, you'll need a place to sleep.
During a divorce one really needs a car which nobody else (besides a few jalops) wants and it also doubles as a place to live in.
