The Jaguar XFR-S is a fantastic car. That much we know. But we all know what would make it much MUCH better as well – if it came in a wagon version. It looks like our prayers have been answered by the British boffins, but only if you don't live in America.
The regular Jaguar XF Sportbrake looked good, but what it clearly needed was ridiculously huge vents up front and a ridiculously huge engine stuffed under the hood.
The guys over at Autocar snagged this leaked photo of the new Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, and somehow it looks even better than the original XFR-S. I never really liked that silly Subaru-esque little wing on the back of the original, but now the XFR-S looks like a cat reared back on its haunches, ready to pounce. Which is much better than trying to convince people your new Jaaaaaag isn't a WRX that had somehow melted.
If it were to sell here in the US (which it probably won't, because maybe America is too good for a glorious British super-sled), it would probably sell for a little north of $100 grand, and would come with the regular XFR-S 550 horse V8 and that sublime eight-speed transmission. It might also come with the regular Sportbrake's extra 150 pounds, but that would probably be worth the extreme increase in practicality.
But again, it won't. So be sad. And write Jaguar letters. Polite, but insistent letters.
The British like that.
H/t to Peter!
