Make no mistake, the current Volvo XC90 is a very old-looking thing. The Volvo Concept Coupe that was shown at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, on the other hand, is a beautiful thing. Put them together and you have the Volvo Concept XC Coupe, bound for the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

We've already seen the 2015 Volvo XC90's face and rear in some grainy camera phone shots, but the XC Concept proves that the new designs shown on the Concept Coupe are headed to Volvo's more utilitarian models. And that's a good thing.

Despite the three very teasery shots that the company provided, Volvo also released a video that shows off much more of the curvy crossover. Honestly, if they just added some rear doors and put it on sale it would sell just fine. I'm really digging the orange inserts in the wheels and skid plate.

But Volvo will produce one more design concept before a 2015 XC90 goes on sale because they're apparently perfectionists.

Details like powertrain and interior shots will be revealed shortly before its debut Jan. 13 in Detroit.
