Nissan thinks future humans will glide through the air rather fast while also being super friendly to polar bears. Meet their latest three-seater electric concept, the BladeGlider.
While it shares some of the engineering with both the LEAF and the ZEOD RC which will make its debut at next year's Le Mans 24 Hour race, the BladeGlider is much cooler then the sum of its parts. It's a DeltaWing for the road.
With its 40 inch front track, carbon fiber body panels and near-360 degree view thanks to the McLaren F1-style seating arrangement, it adumbrates a completely new driving experience.
It also has doors similar to the McLaren Mp4-12C's mechanism, because why not?
Having the front wheels close together reduces drag and enhances maneuverability for high-G cornering power, assisted by its 30/70 front/rear weight distribution ratio. Sounds like oversteer to me. Downforce is created by the carbon-fibre underbody, hence the lack of drag-inducing wings. The lithium-ion batteries are also sitting low in the body just like in a Tesla Model S.
