Two Barricade Saleen Mustangs Spotted, Transformers 2 Already Filming?

These shots, snapped in a drive-by of a trailer in the movie-making capital of Culver City, Calif. are two Saleen Mustangs outfitted with that familiar paint scheme that marks a very special 'stang. This can only mean filming of Michael Bay's next masterpiece is underway or getting pretty damn close. We can already hear Wert's robogasms from here.

The latest word is the script is still in development with filming to start in June, and really, why worry about something as silly as a script when there's giant freakin' robots to blow stuff up. But as we saw earlier this month, Bay is pretty excited about the sequel, so we wouldn't be surprised if things were already starting to get underway.

Now the questions start to fly: why would there be two Barricades? One would think that multiples would be needed for the filming process, but the little kid in us believes Barricade multiplies and fights as twins, or, you know, Ford's bringing out their new Barricade special edition Saleen 'stang. Looks like one has a light bar and one doesn't. Can't tell about the third--though there are clearly three cars in that first thumbnail. But really, who cares about the car? Is Megan Fox doing the sequel? Maybe they'll clone her and she can fight as twins...

Nice find. I own only 2 of the Transformer figures from the new movies: Barricade and Ironhide. And yes, I'm an adult (age-wise anyway). I just think those two were the baddest bad asses in the whole movie.

Without being able to see the interiors to see how stripped they are, I would guess they might be second unit cars. Possibly they are getting outfitted with the requisite roll bars/safety equipment, and that all important dark tint for the windows.

Although it would be cool to see 3 barricades in the new movie, I'm guessing they have three of them because they plan on trashing a couple.. knowing Bay, I'm sure he'll be blowin shit up, and unfortunately some of that shit may be in the form of a Saleen...

All of the cars for Transformers are prepped by Shelly Ward Enterprises, in North Hollywood, CA. Shelly Ward also owns & operates "Pursuit Systems", which is where all those bitchin' Porsche Cayenne camera cars come from.
