The editors of Edmunds.com have finally posted what skeptics of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 have been demanding: An independently sanctioned bludgeoning of the truck's quarter panel. Here's how it held up.
The quarter panel was targeted (as opposed to a door or bumper) because it'll be one of the more difficult body parts to replace... what I'm really interested in seeing is what kind of bill the Ford dealership comes back with after patching up the damage. Of course, we'll have to wait for "Part II" to see how that goes.
Still, I'm glad somebody's got the budget for experiments like this... Edmund's is doing the lord's work here. Is the dent resistance looking close to what you expected?
Be sure and check out their update here, where they tell how much it costs to fix these dents!
