Mergers have been in the news a lot lately. Whether it’s the announcement that Honda and Nissan are joining forces or rumors that Stellantis may end up selling off some of its brands, automakers working together have been at the forefront of a lot of people’s (read: my) minds. That’s what led me to today’s question.

I want to know which automakers you all think should join forces. Which companies would benefit from a team-up; a merger of equals, let’s say? Of course, your reason for wanting these two companies to get together can be whatever you want.

Maybe it’s because both have wonderful technical know-how, and the creations that come from a merger would be excellent. Maybe it’s a Honda-Nissan situation, where the stronger automaker has been tasked with basically saving the weaker. Maybe you just like weird shit, and you’d want to see two incongruent car companies join forces.

This is a safe space for whatever wacky ideas for automotive mergers you’ve got rocking around in your head. You will be shaded from scorn… from me at least. I cannot speak for your fellow Jalops. Anyway, why don’t you head down below and let everyone know what two automakers you think should merge next? As always, bonus points will be awarded if you explain why these two companies should wed and what sorts of vehicles you’d like to see from them.
