What's Your Automotive White Whale?

We're constantly on alert for unusual cars in our area and, once we spot one, we keep looking for it and we're not always successful. Some elude us still. What's your automotive white whale?

There was once a white Aston Martin Lagonda we spotted in Chicago with a strange vanity plate. Not only was it a metaphorical white whale, it actually looked like a white whale. Because it had Illinois plates and was parked in a residential zone we assumed it would be around for good. It stood in the parking lot all day and we kept meaning to go back and get photos for Jalopnik. By the time we got around to getting our gear outside it was gone.

No worries, we could wait it out. It would return. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually, we moved. And then one day we received a photo set from Ian Merritt over at Kicking Tires and it was the same car. I even checked to confirm the same strange license plate. You can read the full story here.

That's our story. What vehicle have you continued to hunt/stalk to no avail?
