What's The Most Expensive Car Crash Ever?

Between all the usual mayhem at Goodwood, and rain at Watkins Glen, we just finished one of the crashiest weekends we’ve seen in a while. Hey, shit happens on the track. Lord knows I’ve been there.

Race cars aren’t cheap, and neither are the vintage racers you see at Goodwood. I have to imagine that wrecking those cost their owners more than a pretty penny. But what’s the most expensive car crash ever? That’s our question of the day.

This could be a single car that crashes on the street or the track, or an infamously massive pile-up. What’s the worst wreck ever in terms of money lost?
